Ruocchio deftly balances the internal struggle with explosive, brutal action. As always, ruochhio's world-building continues to astonish me. A gripping view intoruocchio's sun-eater universe.

While waiting for * in white to hit the shelves. Perfect narration for this series. Overall this book is a fantastic read.

This novella is about hadrian marlowes younger brother crispin marlowe and his sister sabine

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I was unsure if i would enjoy this book because crispin was an entitled jerk in empire of silence

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

He and his sister are faced with a deadly attack and must work with his few surviving guards and a local mountain cult if he has any hope of survival

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

He suspects that the attack came from members of his own family but will soon learn that it has come from a completely unexpected source

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I thought the action scenes here were also superb and suspenseful and there was pretty much nothing that i would critique

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

While empire of silence kind of makes crispin seem like a chad the writing in that book hints that perhaps he isn’t entirely

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The lesser devil shows that crispin marlowe may not be the onedimensional character readers likely believed him to be after reading empire of silence

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I think i fully agree with christopher ruocchio that this could be a good entry point for reading the sun eater series
