I was captivated by this story from beginning to end. You are really jettisoned into that time and place. Being an outsider in two worlds is a springboard for a story that unfolds ceaslessly.
For a filmmaker, there was great inspiration. Emotional resonance will sneak up on you by the end of the book.

Unexciting, predictable, and a plot that is forced. No doubt it is just fiction. The bland, tepid and trite tale of a young man struggling with his cultural identity.
