Either way there is no denying the very thorough research and interweaving of the sequence of original conan doyle stories into the narrative set down here by doctor watson

Simply because the first half of the book was brilliant a very clever melding of historical fact and fiction which was gripping even though i was pretty sure which direction the narrative was going in

The four star rating is because i felt that the second half of the story wasnt quite as good as the first
