Pros & Cons
Pros
The science fiction of the book is straight up brilliant. If you like science fiction that feels at times gritty and real, i think you will very much enjoy the forever war. Definitely recommended for any scifi reader.

However the message i took from the book war is oftentimes unnecessary and pursued due to narrowmindedness or alterior motives is somewhat obvious and made without sufficient subtlety

While i note that one reviewer in particular felt that the book hinged on the protagonist having a personal struggle regarding homosexuality i did not feel that way at all

And this is contrasted late in the book with a society in which there is no distinction made at all between hetero or homo sexuality
