Pros & Cons
Pros
Tahir shah is an englishman who moves his family to casablanca, morrocco. He buys the caliph's house and renovates it to its former glory. The book is a great introduction to the culture of morocco.
Tahir shah has such a wonderful writing style that his books are hard to put down. His trials and tribulations of buying a ruin and renovating it are frustrating but humorous and make a great read.
A really immersive tale. I was fascinated by the story, couldn't put the book down. The book is easy to read and moves through topics very smoothly.
