Pros & Cons
Pros
The immense power of this short book is in the masterful writing. Short but unforgettable. Arrows are slender, too, but have an impact similar to this book.
The buddha in the attic is a delightfully eye-opening read. Once adjusting the writing style that takes place through hundreds of women’s eyes. Educational and easy read.
The cadence of her prose is almost hypnotic. Her writing motivates me to be more kind, more respectful.
Cons
I almost quit reading this galloping narrative of occurrences. There was no real plot. If this writer were in any of my writing courses, she’d fail.

A must read by everyone concerned with the rising xenophobia in our country
Julie otsuka with the buddha in the attic writes this story in a very beautiful way
I have one issue and it has nothing to do with the writing
The book is written from the first person perspective of the brides then ends with the first person perspectives of the white residents
