It's not even a rock tumbler product as amazon categorizes it. They refer to the ingredients as different terms thru-out - chemical compound,. Name of chemical compound, alum, alum salt. They multiply with water.

Perhaps i should have paid more attention to the age recommendation but we bought this for our 6 year old and found it involves so many chemicals were going to keep it stored until hes older

I get that its a process that has to build up to the end result but its hard to get a 7 year old excited about dissolving crystals
