Metal construction throughout. Heavy duty cord construction and is plenty long. The pedal is very sturdy and works as expected.

The socket on the extension cord would not allow plugs to be fully inserted.

If you are worried about accidental step onto the switch they sell a different model that has a shield over it

I cannot tell you whether it is water resistant i have not used it outdoors but i suspect it will leak water if left outside while doing something in the rain

I would avoid using any power tool that draws more than a half amp if it is raining outside stick with cordless power tools if it is raining
