The string slaps my nose and 1 put of 5 times youl hit the hard plastic on the top or bottom of the ball its not painful but just annoying and your fingers will feel bruised for a couple mins after and during use after i got the hang of it the only times i miss or screw up a streak of punches is when my thumb gets caught on the string when im about to hit the ball i got this beacuse i have nowhere to put a double end bag in my apartment if your serious about improving your striking/boxing game id get a double end bag instead  Read Less

I was surprised that this headband is comfortable - you adjust it by velcro to your size preference, but it didn't hurt my head at all. You tie the string to the right length for you too, so it's all personalized. As for hitting it - well, I'm not very coordinated so it will take me a bit to master this to the video demonstration levels, but I like it. The ball is like a super soft golf ball and doesn't hurt my hands at all when hitting it or if I get hit with it. My teenager who likes to juggle thought this was awesome and got good quite quickly and no it is nothing like juggling, but my point is he's coordinated. My little one thinks this is fun and also hilarious (he's 7). I'd say for atheletes, it's serious and can be quite effective in mastering skills and hand-eye coordination. For kids, it's fun.
