Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Deck has a fine tune adjustment knob that allows you to adjust the pitch of the playback. Usb port on the back of this deck populates itself on your pc as an audio codec. Using for digitizing existing tapes and creating cds.

The * are snappy, and the small screen on the front displays real audio meters. The screen also sports a dolby logo near the meters (even though this deck doesn't have dolby) so it's likely that the screen is repurposed from an older deck.

A little pricey but so far so good. The build quality is also really nice. Good investment, tascam is a very high rep brand, and still apparently is. A zealand zealand.

The tanashin mechanism is simple and easy to service in the future if the belt ever need replacing. Bottom line is this deck gets the job done.

Cons

These problems are completely inexcusable at this price point. Thank heavens for amazon's return policy, and the convenience of the kohl's drop off.

This was purchased to replace a 40+ year old tape deck, it is being used to record tapes, so far, so good.

It lasted many years and i got a lot of use from it until about five years ago the belts broke and i couldn’t repair it.

Price

It worked perfectly, i only wish that it was a bit cheaper.

I do recommend this dual tape player if you don’t mind spending a few extra bucks.
