That is until i tried to expand the tablet adapter to put my apple tablet in it

I turned the lock screw on the back of the unit and tried to expand the adapter

I then tried something desperate i took a screwdriver and placed it between the bottom of the plastic piece at the bottom and the base where the tripod adapter bolt is located i then tried to pry it loose and lo and behold it worked

Apparently when they prepared the thing for shipping the pushed it too hard and it jammed
