The call blocker functions do work

However if you lose power and you happen to have voip phone or other similar service such as verizon fios where the battery backup only lasts for 8 hours then the call blocker will reset to factory defaults when it does not receive power from the phone line

It has a battery compartment but no leads to actually provide a working power backup

The device would be much better if it had some sort of nonvolatile flash memory to retain its contents while the power is out
