The shaft of the bar is black (as advertised) and seems to have been coated with some type of lubricant. This bar rotates very smoothly, as smooth as iwf eleiko bars. I like the grip a lot.

The bar spins freely for all the olympic lifts.

Well made and almost frictionless spinning. Has taken a pretty good thrashing from me and my kids so far. No squeaks, high end finish.

Bought it a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Exceeded my expectations for the price. I'm excited to use it and see how it performs over the next year.

Cons

There has never been more than 150lbs loaded on the bar and usually much less.

The quality of the bar is evident and compared to the other ones in my garage that were twice as much i can say it is as good if not better

Also is strong as hell i have had to bail on power cleans using iron plates and their was no damage so the build quality is very solid

I have to feel the knurling to align my hands since it is hard to see it

Carrier did not abuse the packaging and took great care while in transit

The end cap on the packaging tube fell out as soon as i lifted the package and i got a scratch on the end cap of the bar itself

Competitiveness

I been looking at buying a synergee barbell for myself and decided to get my wife her own barbell

I dont expect any issues for years to come i especially like the grip knurl

The other comments are accurate about this being a very aggressive knurl
