The tongs look ungainly but are really quite nimble and will pick up a piece of charcoal or small tinder. The claw action is perfect to grab the charred and burning logs. It's so easy to tend the campfire!

Center piece that * down on the log is very cheap. Seems very flimsy-ly made.

Requires two hands to manipulate the jaw. Only one hinge opens.

The main pincher piece is stamped steel and very flimsy. The guide tines are ok, but overly close together (easy to bend into proper distance) the scissor claw is veryflimsy stamped metal.
