Pros
This is what i would use to get them in the habit of visiting your feeder. They still hog up the bird seed, but don't knock the rest of the feeders down any more. They are a constant source of entertainment outside our patio doors.
This year's woodpecker babies were brought to the feeder by their parents. I use it in a suet log and a metal holder. The titmice, chickadees, nuthatches, and blue jays also enjoy it.
These smaller suet cakes fit perfectly in an average-size cage. I love the lack of plastic trays that just go in trash. So much less water worth the plastic tray. I try to avoid putting plastic in the landfill whenever possible.
Good quality suets at a reasonable price. Will be buying this one from now on. An excellent product.
Cons
Four days no takers. Only one. Ended up tossing the whole bunch.
It's like they went on a suet strike. This suet looks good, but i have seen only one nuthatch eating it. Typically i have to use scissors, but these packages tear open very easily, and the cakes slip right into the feeder. The woodpeckers not so crazy... Read More

Most common birds i see are sparrow and chickadees a few woodpeckers northern flickers here and there and the juncos love to peck at it and then eat off the ground below

They are sticky so i store them in the freezer and put them out as needed
