The puzzle seems well made with multicolored plastic pieces of maybe 14 inch thick

The color patterns are different with each package it seems they randomly combine each set of cut pieces

In the batch i saw the yellow pieces were transparent so that you could see the wood grain of the enclosing frame through a few of them but the rest were opaque i think it would be better if they were all either opaque or transparent

Only some of these features were covered by the exhibit including how archimedes was an early explorer of combinatorics but there is much more online for maximum geek analysis look at a tour of archimedes stomachion

If you expect a lot of geeky play out of the puzzle it may be worth it to invest in this durable version rather than playing with cutout paper pieces

The exhibit included a huge version of this tangramstyle puzzle for people to play with and then the museum store included some takehome versions including the plastic version listed here
