    That the main character can pick up such a set of powers and then put them down again after using them is a bit hard to swallow either pick it up and keep them or not be tempted are much more believable but reaves pulls it off

    Although the characters arent identical the idea of a cowboy jedi surviving the catastrophe of order 66 and still staying active unlike yoda and obiwan hiding out to wait for prophecy to come about is great interepisode stuff to fit between iii and iv to give the jedi some active continuation besides the mentorspiritual legacy we get from yoda and ben

    The last jedi is effectively written characters are great action is exciting and the novel in general is surprisingly descriptive especially when it comes to showing how the force works and how it can be manipulated by different kinds of forceusers
