The included amp provides plenty of oomph to practice and possibly even annoy close neighbors with thin walls. The amp works just fine, although the drive effect isn't the most impressive.
The 3 months of fender play makes it absolutely worth it to refresh the basics and advanced play as well! The lessons are perfect for a beginner. It's worth signing up.

Comes pre strung so you have to tune it

One issue noticeable “staticlike” high frequency noise until one touches guitar strings or other metal parts on guitar on all 5 pickup selector positions

Positions 2 and 4 reduce the lowfrequency hum present in positions 1 3 5 as expected from single coil pickups but don’t reduce the high frequency staticlike noise

This noise is most annoying using headphones

Using the amp speakers it’s not so bad probably due to the amp speaker’s weaker high frequency response
