The sshape really just flows with the ergonomics of the camera and removing the battery or memory card is absolutely never an issue

You can still hold and maneuver your camera just as easily without putting your hand through it if you choose

So if you are trying to get an awkward angle you can just slide your hand out and around to grip the camera with full flexibility of your wrist

Build quality seems excellent and it comes with all the tools necessary to install on your camera either sitting under a tripod quick release plate or just affixed directly to the mounting hole under the camera using the supplied washer and machine screw

It didnt require any breakin period to make it comfortable for useadjustability i was able to adjust the hand strap so it fit my hand well but still allowed me to reposition camera to be able to review the pictures on the lcd screenlining the inside of the hand strap is padded and covered in soft material that looks like velorsafety strap i liked the fact that the strap has the secondary safety strap that allowed me to just hang my hand by my side without fear of dropping the cameradislikesnone really other than the fact that the camera didnt fit in my camera bag as easily as it did with the neck strap
