Pros

A reclaiming of heritage, this book is a journey into the history, culture, theory and practical application of folk medicine. Phillis is the most talented herbalist of her generation. Her personal stories are entertaining and instructive.

It really encapsulates the spirit and history of the south. Both practical and enlightening. Just love anything by phyllis light.

Cons

I really wish that it actually did have alot if the old wives tales or some of the actual traditional medicine we have all heard since we were children. Tin foil hat babble. No useful info on plants that can be soured in the southeast.
