Pros & Cons
Pros
Not an audiophile but this turntable really has blown me away. I use sennheiser headphones, and on comparison with a digital recording, the turntable sounds exactly the same, if not better. Good sound quality for the price.
The player works very well once one sorts out the playback. It plays all vinyl really well and has really excellent sound quality. All my vinyl (some from the 1970s and new vinyl) play without jumping or skating (once i fully grasped how all this work... Read More
If you're someone who wants something a bit more serious than the gadget-lover turntables this competes with, at a similar price. Soundlab professional g056f is brilliant.
The deck comes with anti-skate & pitch control, a slightly dark cover and is mounted on sprung feet to help reduce vibration. An old autochange that came down on them like a piledriver with a tracking force of around half a hundredweight, it's a w... Read More
Cons
The software is so far out of date it is not compatible with windows 7, so had to do a web search and found other people with the same experience who had fortunately come up with the solution. All in all the experience is pretty poor! Might have said ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
A very good usb turntable very pleased with the overall performance
Sound quality is excellent compared to the steepletone its different class
The sound quality is fine by my reckoning
The turntable is well constructed and the sound quality is also very good
Price
Very well featured at an excellent price
The one design fault especially of a product at this price is the lack of an automatic arm return
Budget level price sounds a£££ level deck
Packaging/appearance
At this price point its pretty much all plastic bar the tonearm
Competitiveness
With its counterweight and standard s tonearm taking 12 cartridges you cant go wrong really
This is not surprising since something like an ortofon 2m red cartridge costs around £80 alone
I will certainly try shure ortofon cartridges on it in the future to see how far it can go
Miles better than the flimsy overpriced models id seen in the shops

It means the arm does not return at the end of the record and you can quickly put another one on without having to restart the turntable

It is decently built it has a counterweight and antiskid mechanisms in my opinion these are the rudimental musthave controls a turntable must have to call itself a turntable

Nor indeed is it necessary to use the usb connection for the equipment to work with a computer it can be connected with the provided rca connector to the line in of a sound card with the turntable set on line in which case no problem arises with not hearing playback and any audio software with a record button should work okay by preference i dont use audacity
