Pros
The player is a bit on the larger side and has a hefty weight to it, feels well made and durable. I highly recommend this player to anyone looking for one that is well made, durable, and just works. Other hardware includes fire cube 2.
Smsl su-8 dac has great picture quality. It is excellent on da conversion of music cds, though.
Bkuray is a home network nas video player. One of the features is that it plays netflix. Watching the fifth element convinced me that replacing my dvd collection with 4k copies was unnecessary.
The player works great with remote once the thing is initialized. And it does that flawlessly. But if i go a week or weeks without using it, the machine takes several minutes toinitialize.

Returns and rebought. Returned to amazon. That's when i gave up, and right now it's boxed up ready to be shipped back.

I like the build quality it seems well built
I bought this player after reading reviews about its nice build quality and very good picture and sound quality
I really didnt think the sound quality would be impacted by a direct hdmi hookup vs a multichannel analog connection to my amp
Once it starts there’s no stopping it and the unit becomes useless
Price
Great and affordable 4k blu ray player that also plays dvd audio discs sacds and blu ray audio discs
I debated between a more expensive player however this player did all i needed it to do at 13 the price
Dont buy it if you want to use it to stream just spend 39 and get a chromecast with google tv or something similar
So for the price i purchased the new version

Some people complain about it not having a display on the unit but i dont see that as a problem as long as it has a power led to tell you if its on which it does

This 4k player works very well all your 4k movies will look great guaranteed but there is one issue i have with this player is that it freezestutter when playing a movie randomly but only with a few movies and it only happens very rarely not sure if its related to the dvd itself or the disc reader inside the player but besides that this is amazing 4k player

Lack of streaming apps is a little odd you only get the preinstalled netflix prime and youtube

Sony used to offer a whole app ecosystem for their players but maybe they want you to buy one of their smart tvs to get that stuff these days 🙄note that dolby vision has to be enabled manually in the settings menu permovie

The unit has an automatic poweroff if you dont interact for around 30 minutes even if youre paused in the middle of a movie
