The price isn't cheap but neither is the product. It is soft, thick, and absorbent. It is well made and has held up to multiple washings so far because my dog tends to track dirt and water. My dog is not a chewer so leaving it in the crate with her is not a concern. I bought the Soggy Doggy to put in my dog's wire crate during dock diving events. Although I dry her off between jump waves, this mat keeps her from laying on a soaking wet crate pad. The SD may be damp, or even wet as it can get heavy, but it doesn't feel soaking wet and it doesn't drip water. I can either hang and dry it out overnight or I throw it into the dryer if it's not dirty... or into the washing machine for a quick clean. The inside material does bunch up at times but holding up by the two corners and giving it a quick shake, flatten the insides out quickly and easily.  Read Less
