Smsl's headphone amp is of better quality than the fiio. I prefer the volume control on this unit compared to a standard volume knob for the headphone amp. The only issue is that the higher the bit rate you set on the dac, the warmer it gets.

I was a bit nervous about software and was not sure if the device would be recognized by my work laptop as it doesnt have a cd drive for the included disc
