Pros
The joy of cooking is a great example. Specific to smoking, smoke and spice (cheryl and bill jamison) the science of great barbeque and grilling (meathead gldwyn) is all great examples.
Cons
It totally distracts from the recipes to read his self promoting egotism. Purely blah bbq.
The recipes are very simple and boring. Had to raise temps 100 degrees and still had to reset cooking times. Banana pudding didn't thicken up.
Myron mixon is narcissistic, pompous, and obnoxiously self-important. There's really nothing that would lead me to believe that mixon was even *hinting* at giving up any real knowledge or professional insights.
No injecting, no references or tips on smoking, no hot box and resting secrets, no spraying secrets. This is way too much about myron and not nearly enough about smoking. The recipies are too complex and drawn out. Most are pretty simple.
