I was a bit disappointed about this for one reason only the orange color surface made me think this is rather fine grit but its not really its rather course compared to the collapsing version of this smith product the one they make with the handle

The other smith collapsable yellow and orange sharpener they produce has a much higher or finer grit to the orange side

If you get this expect to use a ceramic stone to finish it off and a leather strop
