Bo burlingham is the author of small companies that choose to be great instead of big. In it, he tells the story behind the elusive power of mojo in business.

Everything the author has written about staying small, resonates with me 100%. Throughout the book i pondered endlessly over possible steps to create a 'small giant' in many ways this book certainly helps you understand that the current mantra of size...  Read More

Cons

This book falls to the common delusion that you can extend broad truths from a narrow set of examples. What's most disappointing in this read is why there are no references to the concerns of anyone other than the owners of the companies. I feel this ...  Read More

I would like to work for a company similar to the ones in this book

However i didn’t liked that the author jumps from a story to another in the same chapter

I understood that this is a topicrelated approach and it’s not that big of a deal but for me the reading might had been better if it might had been written company by company not topic by topic with refferences to all the companies adressed in each chapter

The content was informative and useful but for some reason i found this one somewhat difficult to get through

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Burlinghams criteria for profiling a small giant were that the company must be privately held successful over several years and the owner must have passed up opportunities to sell or to take the company public

The choice not to further scale up can be deliberate and clear
