I was using a very low price 3.5mm to RCA cable to go from a headphone out jack on an Apple Airport Express to a Dynaco VTA ST-120 Tube Amplifier I built from a kit (tubes4hifi) and the highs were quite harsh and the bass lacking. The quality build of these cables are impressive, the RCA section of the cable isn't overly tight like a Monster Cable which I feel every time I've had to remove them actually may be removing material from the female input on my amplifiers. These slip on with smooth firmness. So the sound, the treble shrill has come down to a manageable level and the bass impact is much deeper now, not like the volume dropped, just a cleaner more defined sound. I don't know how a cable made such a difference, but doing blind testing with my back turned I could pick out the old cable every time, didn't think that was possible either. I only did this because I thought I was imagining it. I think a good cable can make a difference, however I doubt spending more would give you much more benefits. I just think this really is the difference between a really low dollar cable and a really well made cable. I wouldn't mind seeing what the difference is as I don't just think it is material, maybe wire gauge, connection quality, and shielding? Anyways, I say go for it as they look great, more importantly the sound difference. I'm happy, so I bought another set (bought a 9.5ft and then a 4.5ft as I have a few airport express units). All my gear in vintage as well, 2 x Pioneer SX-1980s, Marantz 2325, the tube amp I mentioned, JBL L71 Verona speakers, Legacy Audio Focus 20/20 speakers, Energy Reference Connoisseur 22, and a bunch of other stuff.
