Pros & Cons
Pros
The p-424sr offers a great mix of stability, mobility and agility. It uses a series of removable and adjustable components in its design. You can also get this monopod made out of heavier materials for a lesser price.
It stands nicely and is very stable because of the wider footprint. The retractable legs make it very stable. After hundreds of weddings, i'm about to purchase another one, because the legs are flattening out.
This is the second sirui item i have purchased, and i have not been disappointed with either. The carbon fiber construction is great, no creaks or rattling. There is not a trace of cost-cutting anywhere.
The sirui is a monopod with in-body stabilization. Use a remote shutter release device to release the shutter.
Highlights
Quality
The quality of all the fittings and feet was outstanding
Its going to be heavy with the professional equipment ive got on this
I didnt see the need for a fluid head with the built in panning
Im 62 so i was expecting a 71 monopod to be a few inches above my eyes with the camera mounted
Price
If you are pro i cant imagine what a better monopod would look like or cost
Packaging/appearance
Straight out of the box i fell in love with this thing omg
Competitiveness
While it may be a bit pricey compared to other monopods on the pro level it has definitely been worth it to me
Ive had two of these so far and i love how the legs are longer than most monopods
I put a 502 manfrotto pan and tilt on this
Other than that its a real workhorse
