    My mom was fascinated with my attempts, since scones were so out of her realm: as an immigrant from italy she could whip up fantastic cuisine of her homeland, but these scone things were the definition of foreign.

    There are helpful hints and tips included in the cookbook, and it's worth it to take the time to read them - i didn't know a thing about how to make scones, so it was worth it to me to read the information.

    I found that if i added, for example, 1/4 cup of liquid, the end result is so crumbly that it would not stay together.

    My only gripe about this book is its size, about 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, and the binding; it's next to impossible to keep the page open face up.
