They think that maybe darker skin types are more sensitive to the infrared heat in the device and maybe they should get used to the device more gradually

You should have some kind of timing device an hourglass egg timer works well to tell you when to move the device to another area

You have to hold the device on each area for three or four minutes twice a day

You charge this up and after its full hold it against the area for 35 minutes which is where a timer in the device would have been handy hence the loss of a star
