Doesnt block out all the sound but if you want and i have done so a few times when running a machine for a long time you can insert the cheap foam throwaway earbuds comfortably inside

She started worrying that it might actually cause hearing loss so i suggested she look at ear protection

She only wears them for short periods of time so she cannot say how they would be to wear for hours

However they do block out the sound so i dont feel as though my ears are ringing from the tractor noises

I also wear ear plugs in my ears with these over them to block sounds more completely
