Bent down bottom of screen almost 90 degrees to allow unit to come down farther on chimney to get better hold with bolts, and the screen acts like a spring to hold unit better.

Since i couldn’t find the right size for my chimney on amazon (10”x 17”), i bought it from local lowe’s hardware store instead.

The protector anchors inside my chimney instead of on the outside of the large chimney fleu.

There is so extra screen material that wraps around and that actually allowed for a tighter fit and held the chimney cap in place while i leveled it and screwed it in place.

Among other things i am not allowed to climb ladders and don't have sufficient balance to venture up to the roof to clean the chimney from our wood burner as i have done for many decades and we thus had to hire a service to do what we knew was an inadequate job of pretending to do it from the bottom up until i made them do it right.

When asked for a quote on a cap to replace the one that blew off they pulled out one that looked exactly like this one and quoted us $150.
