Setting the flash to manual in slave mode can only be done via the commander you cannot do it via the flash itself

Just set the flash group the sn600sn is set on to m via the commander and take a shot the flash will respond correctly to the exposure setting and you will then notice the mode on the flash has changed from ittl to m again when using it in manual mode off camera the sn600sn seems to respond well to the exposure settings made via the commander

Putting the sn600sn on the camera in master mode it triggered my sb700 as expected in ttl mode the sb700 responded correctly to flash compensation made on the sn600sn

There is a 45 minute comprehensive review of the sn600sn by martin cheung on youtube and when he tried using the sn600sn as a master he noted the slave flash didnt respond to ev changes made on the sn600sn so i was keen to test this i was relieved when it worked fine

I would imagine he either did something wrong or it was to do with the yongnuo flash he was using as a slave

It also has a repeat mode but i have not tested this as i do not use it

The head freely rotates 180° to the left and right and of course it can be tilted upwards for bouncing flash off the ceiling
