Live drum music sounds like you are in the room with the drum not recorded at all

Most reviews were for the general sound the mic had as they just wanted improved sound over the builtin mic and were not measuring focusing motor noise during movies

What i found was that the sevenoak cut the motor noise down much better than the rode did

You could still hear it but it was 95 quieter than the internal mic

As far as details about the sevenoak mic itself is concerned it uses a type of rubber band to suspend it so it floats

I suppose over time they could deteriorate but hopefully the company will offer replacements for them although i did not see any on their web site at this time
