I think that what bothers me about it though is that i wonder whether the character actually knows it or whether it is just the narrator speaking directly to me

These problems were far less obvious before the big break in the middle probably because it was set during modern times and the terms were being introduced for the first time

Classing this as a sci fi novel does not do it justice it covers off on an a staggering amount of real science deep moral questions the danger of raw humanity and the insane sacrifices that would have to be made in a situation no one could ever foresee
