The motion of the opening door causes the bulb to turn off and when the door closes the light goes out in a few seconds

In one application the existing fixture had an opaque globe over the existing bulb and that had to be left off after installing the new motionsensing bulb because the bulb doesnt work through opaque glass

You can use the wall switch to turn it on and off like a regular light or leave the wall switch on and the bulb will turn off by itself after a short while if no motion is detected in the room

After we exit the closet and shut the door it turns off within about 30 seconds
