Pros

Sennheiser hd 650 headphones are great for detailed acoustic, vocal, percussion and other 1khz and higher audio. Most of the reviews on this product page are not for the headphones you will be buying now, they are for the newer model.

They feel a little snug at first, but with the precision adjustment on each ear, these feel very comfortable. The material wrapping the ear pads is super comfy and replaceable when they wear out.

Detachable cord allows for easy replacement. My only gripe is that the 'y' part of the cord is a bit short. The cord is rather long, but aftermarket cables can be purchased in other lengths so its not a big deal.

There is good separation and good it’s and highs and just enough thump for bass. Fourth, treble quality is exceptional, bass quality is not at the loud level that you would expect. Sub-bass with that amp is stellar.

For me, it’s the perfect mobile pairing. These are a jack of all trades. They are simply incredible.

Cons

Sennheiser pxc 550s are very uncomfortable to wear. The cups are too tight and the ear cup is too narrow. The result is a very uncomfortable and painful head and earheadache.

The sound just lacks emotion for me. No wonder folks modify this headphone to get it to sound better. Bottom line is i hated how these things sounded, and didn't want to put any more money or effort in to them.

Look at ebay and you will find the resale value of hd650 is low due to this

They are open back so noise canceling is completely out of the picture if thats what youre looking for

Competitiveness

I use them with a fiio e9e17 setup on windows 10

I use these daily for at least 6 hours powered by a fiio k5 ess pro or a fiio k3 new model

I have no idea why amazon decided to tell me to rate its noice cancellation and bass quality

My moreexpensive hd 700 headphones are now unusable due to plastics failures after less than 5 years
