The dial face shimmers from a medium gray to black in strong light depending upon angle and appears basically black in dim light

But when i learned about how expensive and difficult it was to change their rechargeable batteries 4060 as well as other reliability issus due to their complexity i opted for this watch

Bear in mind this is a hefty larger sized watch so if you are looking for something light on your wrist this isnt it
