The scosche speaker works well with ability to use bluetooth or supplied wire to connect direct to your ipad or laptop with the caveat in my situation of it shipped in torn packaging from not amazon shipped vendor

When i hooked the device up to my cell phone i didnt pay attention to whether changing the volume on the speaker changed the volume of the phone
