Pros & Cons

The AI used to provide these results are constantly improving. These results might change.

Pros

Took approximately 10 minutes to complete. Installing this solved the problem.

Only small negative is this part only came in bright brass finish so i needed to reuse antique bronze cover plate and screws. From what i can tell, it is an exact replacement for the one that stopped working.

Dead latches are generally used on exterior doors requiring a key. Spring latches used on interior doors not having a key cylinder. Original schlage latch.

My shlage keypad lock is several years old and did receive some recent * in the form of door slamming. The deadlatch is bronze color, while my keypad entry is brushed chrome.

Cons

The hardware itself is garbage. A critical internal part is made of the cheapest metal possible. Item is not compatible with all schlage door handles.

Quality

So happy the company supplies such a product

Price

Couldnt be easier and the price and delivery were great

Works great easy to install reasonable price

Latch stopped working on 20 year old door knob set… didn’t want to have mismatched or replace multiple locks keys… easy low cost fix

But the mail order price was similar

Shipping

I went ahead and purchased 1 day shipping and i had it installed the day after ordering

Competitiveness

This is a replacement for a schlage lock that should have been replaced for free from schlage

I could not find this oem schlage latch locally

I have a schlage battery powered code door lock that all of a sudden quit closing correctly

Instead of buying a new lock i looked on amazon and found a new schlage plunger
