Pros & Cons

Pros

Sound is crisp and clear. Great mic for vocal recording. Only issue is the wiring.

I am absolutely satisfied with the samson co1 mic. I have other much more expensive microphones that do not deliver the quality and clarity of sound that this mic does. Do yourself a favor and get this mic.

Best bang for your buck by far. I would reccomend buying as a bundle.

Excellent for pod-casting or recording a conversation. These are more than adequate for podcasting kind of stuff and for recording demos.

Cons

The c01 microphone is a terrible microphone for podcasting. There is no way to adjust the gain which is extremely high. Latency issues when trying to hear yourself. No option to fix either. This mic is trash.

Competitiveness

The sound is as clean and crisp as my samson q2u which is more money

Update me and my dad compared this mic to the very expensive akg c414 and hearing them both they were extremely close

Still the samson costs a lot less money than the nt1 my primary mic for recording my doublereeds

I didnt want to spend the money necessary for a second rode nt1 mic that i expected to use only rarely

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The samson has a pretty flat response curve which i wanted for recording woodwinds and to be compatibleif not a precise matchfor my rode

My concerns about the samson are limited

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

First its advertised to be a largediaphragm condenser mic but at only 19 mm the diaphragm is really only at the top of what i understand to be the usual range for medium diaphragm condenser mics using that paradigm the nt 1 is a true largediaphragm at 25mm
