I think it is stiff because it is supposed to be water proof.

I ordered this rug because it looked soft but it's not, looks was deceiving there.

The rug is pretty but the pile/nap is thinner than i thought it would be.

It comes out of the wrapping pretty smooshed down so you need to vacuum it a couple times to get it fluffed up.
