I have no idea which country it's medically certified in (i couldn't find it on the uk register), but it does have a hospital/nhs equipment look about it and the electrical compatibility information in the manual is *way* more detailed than you'd expect for normal electronics so its certainly a plausible claim.

The plug for it has more 'bulk' above the long pin which is moderately annoying for me as i have to unplug two things from my extension lead (a tower-type) but for plugging into a normal socket or extension lead it shouldn't cause any problems.
