The straps started unraveling about 2 weeks after we got the bag and thats with no school books he was simply carrying it around over the summer to cart around papers books pencils etc nothing heavy
While my son doesnt carry a lot of books around it is very roomy inside so id imagine it would easily fit most kids books and supplies
