It is not a blackout curtain but i dont think the company claimed that it was so thats really not a problem

We looked at all the options to get privacy vertical blinds plantation shutters privacy screens you name it all very expensive and not very pretty

It does sag in the middle while the rod is extended to 98 inches

Im not using it against any sort of lights so i cant tell you if its seethrough per se as some reviews stated but i would imagine it would not allow much light if it does at all

For the curtain rod i went with an industrial look with 12 floor flanges you can also find them on amazon for a couple bucks thats where i got them lowes and home depot didnt have the cheap ones and 12 wire conduit that you can find at loweshome depot for couple bucks for 10 ft
