Slightly different from the 8800 but works ok thanks this sniffer is replacing our old fleet of the tif1800s works great for evap leaks i cant think of a reason why you would not want to own one of these i am a master technician for toyota i bought this on a whim to see if it had automotive purpose in helping find evap leaks since it has a sensitivity of 5ppm first time i used it on a tacoma that was in a month earlier that had a 442 small leak the miller tool and smoke machine gave me know sighs of a leak after messing around for over an hour it came back and this tool found the leak on top of the gas tank with in the first minute now everyone wants to borrow it works awesome just make sure to fully charge it before first use or it wont work correct

After charging i tested it outside and found it seemed to work ok so i took it to the furnace and within seconds i had pinpointed the leak to a location on a fitting on the gas valve

It seems to work i have tested it but i havent seen how accurate it is and its not made of high quality plastic it just feels cheap if i drop it it will break for sure the battery door is hard to open and needs a flat blade screw driver or coin i bought this because we had a small lp gas leak that the hvac guy couldnt find
