But eventually a vacuum is created inside and the flow stops so you have to open the lid to let air in

They also give a extra washer as well for a tight seal

If you need your water bottle to be less than 5 gal and have a spout this is about the only design out there right now but i used to have 3 gal water bottles that looked more like the 5 gal jugs and the water flow on those were awesome you could fill them right up to the top with no room left and empty them out to nothing easily
