When i received my ranger beads there was a defect in the paracord that kept the beads from sliding over it.

It's a simple matter of attaching a small carbiner if i want to go bigger.
I fed a small caribiner through the top set of beads, and i use that to anchor it to my pack.
Came also with a matching paracord keychain.

The pace counting beads i received have a good amount of length, matching the description of 13 inches.

The hook on the end is plastic, and it is too small to clip to anything on my pack.

I had a hard time fastening it to anything on my kit, but ultimately clipped it to the plastic ring on my camelback.

I'm relying on the clasp for the moment but i'll eventually switch to the carabiner shown in the photo i posted.

It hangs off my belt loop, the beads stay in place until you slide them down.
