The unicorn does need a hard tap to go through the colours i thought it wasnt working and contacted the seller who sent me a manual to download but it still didnt say that you have to tap it quite hard

There is a timer which turns the light off after 15 minutes to reduce energy but you can avoid this by connecting the lamp to the power supply and it will stay on all night once plugged into a socket
